An exceptional sponsor for a committed edition!
When we imagined the central theme for the 22nd edition of the ENGIE Open Biarritz Pays Basque, the link between sport and disability was a given. But sometimes, current events give our choices an even greater impact.
Olivier Goy, a renowned entrepreneur, suffers from Lou Gehrig's disease. Since his diagnosis in the summer of 2020, he has chosen to transform this irreversible ordeal into a message of life, energy, and inspiration.
For athletes, for entrepreneurs, for all those whose lives throw them into disarray.
It was therefore only natural that Olivier Goy agreed to be the patron of this edition. A patron of immense courage and contagious optimism. His film, Invincible Été, which will be screened on the morning of Monday, June 9, retraces his battle with the disease. This moving and illuminating documentary sets the tone for a special day dedicated to sport and disability, with talks, discussions, and activities open to all.
And because this day deserves a fitting opening, an exceptional charity concert by The Avener will illuminate it. A moment of music, sharing, and emotion, opening the tournament and closing a memorable session.
The entire ENGIE Open team is proud to lead this initiative, with the aim of offering a different perspective on illness, disability, and the incredible strength of those who, like Olivier Goy, decide not to give up.
